ENSAYO FINAL PARA UTOPÍA
The film starts as a trip from the film director to Mozambique where he’s been searching for old films produced in the country; however strange premonitions overwhelmed him with sorrow. Urgent news about the health of his father forces him to return to his native land Venezuela and spend time with him. The film flows from the personal to a more overt interest in politics, representations of groups, political actions, collective, yet vintage and faded ideas of Utopia, back to the subjetct and the unchangeable fact of the finality of one’s life.

Andrés Duque
Born in 1972 in Caracas, he lives in Barcelona since 2000. He is a filmmaker and teacher in the Master of Creative Documentary at Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona.
